M-commerce is a big business, and it’s undeniable getting bigger day by day. So, if you didn’t join in line, you will definitely lose this part of the market. Nowadays, the consumer shopping habit is fast changing with the mobile devices as one of their main tool for surfing Internet, shopping and others. According to a Google study recently which reveal smartphone is the connected devices most commonly used in Malaysia which is 51% compare to computer and tablet. Malaysian people use an average of 1.2 devices each and this has risen in the last three years. According to The Nielsen Global Survey of E-commerce 2014, mobile phone usage is popular in Asia-Pacific (52%) for online shopping. Besides, based on the report on Mobile Malaysia: ahead of the pack made by On Device Research, there is around 35% smartphone penetration which means more than 10 million smartphone users in Malaysia out of total 30 million population of Malaysia. Thus, it even predicted that smartphone penetration in Malaysia will rise to 60% by 2015. The Consumer Barometer study showed that Malaysians have at least 1.2 Internet-enabled devices, which underlines the importance of the multi-screen trend: using more than one device to achieve a task, or using devices simultaneously. In the categories covered by the survey, apparel (42 percent), cinema tickets (37 percent) and insurance (26 percent) were the next most popular categories after flight ticket (86%) and hotels (75%). Thus, M-commerce is here now and will continue to grow, this is something that Online retailers cannot afford to ignore even the brick to mortal business. So, mobile commerce is not future trend, it is ongoing now and it will become the future lifestyle of people. The trend is only going to continue as more people come Online and the appetite for all things digital grows. It's up to Malaysian businesses to satisfy that hunger with all the innovation and creativity in that's out there. Tons of businesses out there, but what make your business to be outstanding among the competitors is the action taken when you can smell the incoming future trend that will take over the whole business world.
